FINALLY A WORD FROM BOSTON!

Okay, so many of you may think I dropped off the face of the earth. And I can't blame you, I mean jeez, I set you guys up to be reading about all of my adventures now that I'm living in BOSTON, and then I leave ya hanging for like 3 weeks! Bad bad bad bad bad. I apologize, I do. And I WILL be better from now on! It's just like, getting the first post after a LONG time is SO hard because I want to write everything and if I did it would take me a good three days.

So I'll try to just write point by point what my new life is.

1. My house!
Okay, so we live in the Parish House, in Dorchester! It's an old house connected to Second Church, which my program director works for. It's a pretty nice house, nice kitchen, living room, 3 bathrooms, etc! There's four of us girls and one guy, and then our RA is a girl and our RD is a boy! I love everyone. The four girls share a room and it's pretty big! We each kind of have our own little section. Here's a look at mine, but now as I'm sure you can imagine, it's a BIT messier.

So the house is awesome. And everyone here is great! We really are focusing on having intentional community, and so we have house meetings, and have dinner together sunday through thursday! We take turns cooking. YEAH. I KNOW. COOK .. ME? WHAT?! Where's my mom! GAHHHH. But I cooked my first meal last Sunday: Chicken, couscous, roasted vegetables and salad! Actually came out great. I was freaking out quite a bit and Maggie, roommate, definitely had to help A LITTLE, but for the most part I did it!!!! Actually felt really accomplished! Here's a pic of SOME OF MY CREATION!

Until then I had to do dishes. Ew. Gross. Hate. We also have weekly CHORES! ROOOUUUGHHHHHHHHHHHH! Okay I'm exaggerating. It's not that bad. Simple stuff, take the trash out, clean the bathroom, etc. This is my trash week. I should prob take it out when I'm done blogging, getting kinda full. :/

2. DORCHESTER!
Alright, so everyone that I told I was moving to Dorchester always responded with, "Oh....Dorchester...be careful. Well, I mean, there are some nice parts." So of course I was freaking out about it before getting here. But honestly, I love Dorchester! So far it's been great. Everyone's been friendly and great! I have a membership to the Y, and it's like a ten minute walk! I gotta get a library card, can't say it was first on my list of things to do. Oops :) And for everyone who was EXTREMELY concerned, Dunks is a ten minute walk! Whew. I go every morning. Duh. Hoping to become a regular! But there's also another good cafe that me and my housemates like to go to! It's called Dot2Dot. They call Dorchester "Dot" here. It's cool. I don't think I'm going to use it until I really feel comfortable because I know when I do say "Yo, hangin in DOT" ... people are just gonna think I'm weird. But anyway, that cafe is GREAT! Dot is great. Ahh, see? It's just AWKWARD when I say it.

3. CLASSES!
Guh, classes. Okay, so I'm taking four. I'll just give you a little run down on each one.
1- Spanish Cinema at Harvard. Okay, so this one's interesting. Went into it FREAKING out, thinking that it was HARVARD and it was going to be the absolute death of me, but really -- it's not too bad. The one thing that's a little frustrating is that EVERYONE in the class is PRO - they're like "Oh, my family is from Venezuela, my Dad is from Ecuador, my grandma is from Cuba.." etc, and I'm like oh I was in Sevilla for 5 and 1/2 months? Gah. Whatevs. I do what I can! Anyway, so we just watch movies weekly and then discuss them in class. I like it. First movie we had to watch was Pan's Labryinth - in spanish of course, LIKE WHAT? That movie is SO weird. I can't even SAY! Wow. But anyway, the class so far is not bad! And I LOVE going to Harvard Square -- it's the nicest area!

2- Independent study. That's going really well! I'm doing it in broadcast journalism, so I find local stories and make newslike videos out of them! I did my first one the first week I got here on Pat Toomey (I'll show you the video not tell you her story) and then I just am now working on one on inauguration of the new president at Gordon College! It's fun! It freaks me out interviewing people on camera, but I love it at the same time!! I definitely know it's what I want to do.

Here's my first story: (WATCH IT!)

3- Intro to Urban Ministry
We're all taking this Urban Ministry class at the Emmanuel Gospel Center in Boston. Kind of a class that takes time to study Boston and all its characteristics and then teaches us how to minister to it's people! Pretty cool. 3 hours on Monday nights. It's actually a Gordon-Conwell (the seminary) class, but we're all taking it. Should be cool. My favorite part is that it's in Copley, and that's a really nice area! Prudential Center, Boston Public Library, all the cool stuff! So I want to go in before class and just hang out there!
Pretty much this area:

4- Internship seminar
A class where we go and talk about our internships, write in internship journals, meet with our supervisers..etc.

AND MY INTERNSHIP, DUH!!!!
Okay, so the thing that's rough is that I want to tell you every last detail about Channel 7, but I can't -- we're not allowed to blog about our internships, learned that at orientation. But I understand it and I'm not going to not follow the rules! Just to let you know, it's AWESOME! SO SO SO AWESOME! I love it so far. 7news is RIGHT in government center, and so it's so great being there right in the city! Thursdays 4-11 and Fridays 12-7! I seriously can't get enough! And I even have my own ID badge that says 7news and has my name on it and picture! I FEEL SO LEGIT!!! Ahh, awesome. But if you wanna know more, just ask! I totally wanna share EVERYTHING.

COOOOOOL!

Ah, I just LOVE IT!

So everything's going awesome so far. I love Boston. I love riding the T. I feel like I've been on the T at least once a day almost every day, and I LOVE it. It's SO city! I love the hustle bustle of everyone getting on and off the T. I love people walking fast in business suits with coffee in their hands. I love the occasional group of loud obnoxious teens on the T. IT'S ALL SO CITY! I'm definitely more and more feeling like a city girl, and it's awesome. Love walking down the street, headphones in, coffee in hand, like I know everything. Gah.

Things I've done/Places I've been so far in Boston/Dorchester
- The Prudential Center -- we went to the top of the Pru during orientation! It was awesome! Such a sick view of the entire city.
- Walked through the Commons, went on the African Heritage Trail -- all orientation stuff! Tiring, but very fun! I love the Ducks statues in the Commons -- makes me think of you, Dad! ;)
- Grendel's Restaurant and Bar in Cambridge -- met up with my aunt Di and cousins Ken and Stan and ate there and walked around! Super fun!
- The Icecreamsmith -- home made ice cream place in Dorchester! So cute, so good. It's in the Lower Mills! We had to take a trolley there, but it was delish and great!
- Ronan Park in Dorchester -- ran into it when I went for a walk! GREAT view and really nice place!
- Morning Star Baptist Church in Dorchester - we went two Sundays ago! Liked it a lot!!

Okay, I've done more, but it's been a while and I'm forgetting everything. Whatevs, it's fine, this is too long anyway. I'm sure I've lost half of you. Anyway, enjoy my life. I will be posting more, NO WORRIES!!!! And better. Promise. And more pics. Duh.

THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCEEEEE :)

Boston bound tomorrow!

Alright, so this is going to be a really quick post -- but I just wanted to update everyone and say that tomorrow I'm headed to Boston! Finally move in day, and then orientation for my program is all next week! My classes are starting next week, and I start my internship September 8th! It's weird, it feels like it's so soon but it also feels like it's time to go. Summer has been SO great, but I am looking forward to the change, and I'm SO excited about this semester - I seriously think it's going to be GREAT! So, just say some prayers that my move in and first few days go well! And know that I will update as SOON as I get the time!

But, I won't leave you guys without letting you know a bit of what my last week consisted of...

- Lots of hours at subway, DUH
- Went and watched Kristi's home opener, went to Flatbread pizza, then stayed the night at UNH :) SO FUN!
- Had breakfast with Shannon Moss (news 8 anchor, my mentor, hero, etc) SOOO AWESOMEEE!
- BOUGHT GROWING PAINS SEASON 2!!!
- Went out to dinner with some Subway co-workers which was GREAT! :)

Pictures to prove:

Alright..so not too thrilling, but hey, it's about to get pretty thrilling, so you will actually enjoy reading these! So I promise to post when I can!! :)

Also one quick random thought before I go to sleep -- hurricane Irene for me was LAME, wish it had been more exciting! I love storms when you lose power and all you can do is sit in the candlelight and play board games with the family! Ugh, this one had SUCH potential but was NOTHING! But I am glad that I can still get out tomorrow :) Can't wait!

And lastly, I'm motivated and inspired by this quote today. I love it. :)

Again - sorry for so short - but I'm tired, and have an early morning and long day tomorrow! Promise to post when I can :)

For now..just picture this ;)

It's been WAYAYAY too long!

Alright, so I can't believe I haven't wrote on this thing in practically 20 days! Gahhh. SO lame! It's not like I'm even having a CRAZY busy summer either where I don't even have time to fathom writing. Oh no, I definitely do. But I will say, that I have been a little bit busy playing with my NEW iPHONE! Asked for it for my 21st birthday .. and finally got it last Sunday!! Hahah, so I'd say I've been a little obsessed with that since I got it a week ago.

Yeah, I mean I think we make a GREAT couple!

So but anyway, have to think of what ELSE has gone on in my life since then. Well, we brought Kristi to UNH on the 9th, to start out her pre-season! Kinda stunk that she started so EARLY, but she was pumped and she's ready to CONE this year! So she was at pre-season for a long time, then came home this Saturday night and spent the night and then Sunday we all brought her with all her stuff to move into her real dorm! (They stay in different ones during pre-season), so yesterday we moved her in! So I mean, all I really cared about was getting to hang out with her Saturday night, and obviously we had a GREAT TIME! It's weird, because I realized I'm not used to being home and having Kristi come home from college. It's usually the other way around! So weird! But yeah - so we got Krit in pre-season, and my MOM is also! Gorham High School soccer getting ready for a BIG year! So she's been in double sessions all week too!

So I'm sure your wondering, where are YOU in all this Katie? Well, you see, let's just say I'm throwing my heart into my work! ;) I mean, I did get EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH for the month of July at Subway!!!! Haha, I was PUMPED!!!! So I mean for me, these past couple weeks have really just been working at Subs, and getting ready for the semester ahead!!

Need to tell you a great story. Alright, so last Saturday, I had quite the long day at Subway. I worked pretty much from 11am to 10pm, because I covered someone's shift! ROUGH ROUGH day right? So I'm just working, it's a pretty busy day. Everyone in and out, etc. All of a sudden someone comes in the door. I'm making another lady a Spicy (aka a pepperoni and salami sandwich). All of a sudden the person gets closer, and I think I recognize her. Is that Shannon Moss? Nahhh, it can't be. Why would she be at the WINDHAM Subway? Nah. But as soon as she started telling Denise her order, I KNEW IT WAS HER!!! I was SO pumped to see her and she was SHOCKED to see me!!! But it was SO great! First of all, I rarely EVER see anyone I know at work because it's in Windham and second of all, it was Shannon Moss!!! :) So it was so great to see her and catch up really quick, and we're hoping to do lunch or coffee this week before I leave! :) For all who were curious, she was going to the beach.

What else what else .. well, I have also continued to live my life this summer at the movies! Haha, last Sunday I went with my dad and we saw Cowboys and Aliens! Sooo not a movie I would pick to see, but my dad's all about those kinda movies, and so I went with him! It was good though .. I was pretty into it the whole time! Really intense, and the aliens were SO creepy looking, but it was really good and I liked it! It was PACKED in the movie theater too .. I COULDN'T EVEN PUT MY FEET UP ON THE SEAT IN FRONT OF ME!! Ugh, HATE when that happens! But, solid movie, I liked it! And I liked spending the time with my dad :)

We kind of spent the whole day together that day! Earlier we went to church at Eastpoint Christian Church in Portland, and then we had gone to verizon to get my iPhone! So it was quite the father daughter day! :) Loved it!

And -- don't think that was my last time at the movies. I know, I need a better hobby - but Denise and I last week went and saw the Smurfs! Yes, it was my second time. And yes, I am extremely proud of it! Denise is the assistant manager at Subway, and we'd wanted to hang out for like EVER, so we finally did and I had told her how much I loved the Smurfs and so she was all about going to see it! AND I COULDN'T RESIST MY SMURFFS! And believe me, it was JUST as good a second time!

Now, I think that pretty much sums up all the exciting stuff that's gone on in my life in the past couple weeks - I know, pretty boring. But hey, it's going to get REALLY exciting a week from today!!! Because that's when I move into BOSTON!!!!! :)

So I have more info on my upcoming semester for all who are interested! It's pretty much all figured out. So, I think I have four classes that I'm taking.
- Intro to Urban Studies (it's like the course that teaches you all about living in the city, etc!) And I think this class is Monday nights!
- Internship seminar -- (I think we like talk about our internships) -- No idea WHEN this will be!
- Independent study -- I'm doing an independent study with a film producer and we're doing stuff that I'm SO excited about! I think it will be like I spend time researching and reporting on stories and he's the camera crew, so I'll have a lot of mini stories (like 3 minute long pieces!) I'm SO excited - this is exactly what I want to do!! AHH :) -- Haven't figured out what days we'll be meeting - depends on my schedule and his! But I do know this Thursday at 3 we are skyping to plan out the semester!! I'm excited :)
- Spanish Cinema -- I'm taking a Spanish class at Harvard this semester too! I only have 9 credits left of my Spanish major, and so this will help! And I'm excited to take a class at Harvard! Let's see if it's all it's cracked up to be ;) -- Wednesday nights 5:30-7:30!
- And the great stuff .. INTERNSHIP AT CHANNEL 7 -- Thursdays 4-11 and Fridays 12-7! Sooo excited! I'm trying to keep up with the Red Sox as best I can, just to start to prepare myself. Because once I start, it will be ALL BOSTON SPORTS .. ALL THE TIME! I start that September 8th! :)

So, pretty much got my schedule for the semester almost all set! Like I said, I move into the house a week from today! We have to be settled in by noon, and then I think we'll have orientation stuff for most of the week, and then labor day weekend off, and then it will all start up for the whole semester! I'm SO excited! Haven't even THOUGHT about packing -- probably should start up that process sooner rather than later though! But that requires laundry, cleaning my room, UGHHH TOO MUCHHHH!! Hahah..yuck. But I'll definitely start that up this week!

So the rest of my week isn't too thrilling! Lots of work and just getting packed and ready to go!! But tomorrow I'm going to watch my sister's home opener v. UMASS, so I'm excited! We'll probably go out for flatbread pizza after too, so I'm pumped! :) GO #15!

Okay, well I am probably forgetting SO many things but I've been writing this for like an hour now, and I'm getting TIRED hahah! But I will be sure to update you if I forgot anything! Just know for now I'm just getting ready for the upcoming semester and enjoying my last few days at my fav place -- good ol Subway!!!

And ps -- my song of the day, "Today is Your Day" by Shania Twain. EVERYONE LISTEN. SO GOODD :)

Alright -- more when I can!
Katie

ALSO - heard this joke on The New Adventures of Old Christine:
"Have you heard about that restaurant on the moon?
Great food, BAD atmosphere"

BAHAHA I LOVED IT!!! Try it out.

Not exactly sure when it came to be August....

BUT IT IS. August? Holy crap. Wow, time's seriously FLYING by. I always feel like August is like the end of summer. Even though I have pretty much the entire month left at home and to enjoy, it always just feels like the end. Gahh, whatevs! But don't worry, this is not gonna be a depressing blog entry, I promise! :)

Soo...where did I leave off? Alright, I think last time I wrote was when my sister was at soccer camp, and clearly I was SO BORED without her. I mean, duh. The two of us spend every minute we have together and love it! Hahah. So she came home from camp on Thursday, and we've been hanging out having fun of course ever since!

Unfortunately, the DAY SHE CAME HOME, I had to work 4-11 at Subway! So didn't get to see her like at ALL! SO lame! But it's alright, we've been pretty much together all weekend. Friday I think we just spent the night hanging out at home, not doing much of anything! Don't ask me why, but on weekdays at 9pm it's kind of become a family tradition to watch The Wonder Years! Such a great show, so I'm pretty sure we just did that with my mom and dad! Always a fun time :)

Saturday I worked 12-6! Yuckola. But Subway hasn't been as busy as it was a few weeks ago, gosh it was insane. Now it's quieting down, which is nice too but I also like it when it's busy. Keeps me high energy and of course laughing! But I mean, there's ALWAYS something that makes me laugh there, like dancing to the music when there's no customers! Always a fun time. AND there never fails to be a sandwich I make that grosses me out. No offense to anyone who eats this sandwich -- but the other day I made a meatball sub, toasted, american cheese...cucumbers and mayo? Ew. I'm sorry but I can't fathom those flavors entering my mouth together. I'm sure the customer loved it -- but still. BLEHHHH!

Anyway, SUNDAY was the best day of my LIFE. Well. Didn't start out that way. Had to bring my dad to the airport at 4:30am because he was going to Las Vegas for a work thing. I wasn't pumped about getting up that early, but I figured he's done it enough for me. Everyone who knows of my favorite news 8 days knows that he brings me in at 4:15am to see Shannon and the gang, and so I figured I owe him! :) Also incredibly jealous he's going to VEGAS (Or was -- he'll be back this evening -- because I LOVE VEGAS! We went over Christmas break. Different story for a different day -- but I'm obsessed!) So after I dropped him off, I got home and luckily fell back asleep!

Alright, after I went back to bed, got up a few hours later, hung out with sister (aka did our usual morning routine of iced coffee and television -- most likely it was Hot in Cleveland), worked 12-4, etc...but the exciting part happened at 7pm in Westbrook, Maine, at a little place I like to call CINEMAGIC MOVIE THEATER!!! Okay, so I told you all in my last entry that I was going to see the Smurfs with Krit, duh because Katy Perry is in it and just because it looked amazing. Well, we went. And ohhhh my god we LOVED IT! We had the BEST time. Don't ask why, but we bought Blow Pops and had them during the movie -- because for some strange reason my sister and I associate Katy Perry with Blow Pops - Idk, can't you just kinda see it? Yeah, DUH! So we had those, watched it, and I can probably say out of everyone in the entire theater, her and I laughed the MOST. It was seriously hilarious! And SO CUTE. The smurfs were in the REAL WORLD! Ahhaaa, so funny. Katy Perry did an AWESOME job! She proved her talent extends FAR from just singing! I LOVE LOVE LOVE HERRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Anyway, so we're obsessed with the smurfs. Honestly, it helped me kind of to de-stress about everything in life. You kind of just realize what makes you happy in life - people, laughing, and fun...I don't know. It was just GREAT and if you want to feel good about life and just be happy -- Go see it. It's SO worth it.

( My favorite was Grouchy smurf or Smurfette, have to say!)

Anyway, pretty sure we got home early that night -- and had just enough time to catch a Wonder Years episode with my mom! :) You're going to think my life is based around the television, but it's FINE. I accept who I am. Love it.

GO SEE THE MOVIE. I heard it also tied with Cowboys and Aliens being number one at the box office this weekend! Seriously, GOOOOOO!!!!

Anyway, then on Monday my sister and I got up, morning routine (as always) and then hit the gym together! We hadn't gone together in a while and we always have so much fun there together, hating it but loving it at the same time! We always laugh at ourselves because we have great workouts but always leave abs to do last, and by that time we're too coned to care! Then Monday night, I had to work 5-8 (long shift, woo, pretty tired), and Kristi played in our women's league soccer game! After the game, we got gluten free-veggie pizza from GHOP (AMAZING) and roasted cauliflower and brussel sprouts with it. You can call me a vegetable, and I accept it.

But don't worry, the night did NOT end with pizza! My mom had been talking for a while about making mudslides for all of us -- kind of a "girls night" type of thing while my dad was away! So we made mudslides and hung out together for the night! It was HILARIOUS, DELICIOUS, FUN, EVERYTHING! Probably shouldn't have gone for round two -- but we all did, and believe me, felt a little bit ROUGH yesterday! But it was a really fun night, and I'm glad I got to share it with my mom and sister!

Even though yesterday was a ROUGH day on the stomach/head, my sister and I had a great day anyway! We went into Portland around 10, and pretty much just spent the day there! We walked the boulevard, which was gorgeous and beautiful like always, and then I had a dermatologist appointment - solid stuff, got a mole taken off right then and there, so see ya mole! Then we had a little picnic outside, Kristi had an appointment at 1:30, and then after that we headed into the Old Port, got really good smoothies from Maine Juice Café and hung out and people watched for the afternoon!

After that, we headed to Borders, 1 -- because it's closing and we gotta spend all the time there we can, and 2 -- because we wanted a book to read as sisters while we're apart! After spending about an hour there -- the winning book was: From This Moment On -- aka, SHANIA TWAIN'S MEMOIR!!!!!! YESSSSSSSS! So excited. We GREW up listening to Shania EVERY morning without fail in the car on the way to school, and we just want to know ALL about her life, so we're pumped to read!

So we opened it right up when we got home and read aloud to each other while my mom cooked dinner! It was hilarious and so much fun!

I'm also an idiot. Forgot to tell you -- ANOTHER thing we bought while out -- the new KATY PERRY cd! I'm lying, it's not at all new. But we never got her Teenage Dream CD -- so we bought it yesterday and listened to it on the car ride home! Even though we were both EXHAUSTED, we still had fun dancing and singing!

But then we had just a relaxing night after that, hit bed pretty early! Today hasn't been too exciting yet, but give it time. I'm in Portland right now at the Public Market, blogging while my mom walks the boulevard with a friend. I could be home -- but I would be home ALONE. CAR-LESS. BORED. So clearly I'm here. We went to the farmer's market earlier, got some good stuff! Here's a view from my window :)

Anyway, not too much else going on in my life. I leave for Boston in 26 days! Can't believe it. No real updates on that yet - still sorting out classes and internship shifts, etc. But I'll let ya know, definitely!

Also -- quick Happy birthday to my aunt Mimi!!!! Miss and love her!
(Cape Cod '10). Now I want more Dunks.

Can't think of anything else. Dad's coming home at 5:30, best have some Vegas souvenirs! Kristi and I have a playoff soccer game tonight at 7:30, hope we win! Gahhhh.

alright -- that's all I got for now, I will definitely update soon! Hope you enjoyed this post of RANDOMNESSSSS! Thanks for reading and being somewhat interested in my life.

Love, Smoothies, and Shania,
Katie

PS -- new episode of Hot in Cleveland 10pm tonight on TV land! Justttt saying you won't regret it :)

i can't wait!

Okay guys. I'm so excited. I don't know why I didn't write this post sooner, but I HAVE to share! So here goes. I'm not sure how many of you know about my plan for the fall semester, probably not many, so I'll just start from the beginning.

So this fall, you'd all normally think I'm going back to Gordon for a normal semester..right? Wrong. I'm still "going to Gordon", but participating in a program called GORDON IN BOSTON! Aka, I'll be living in Boston area (Dorchester to be exact) in a house that Gordon owns, with five other people participating in the program! I get to do an internship in Boston, and take classes through the program and through other schools! I'm seriously SO excited.

So needless to say, I needed to find an internship for this program. So my summer has been a long process of writing resumes, cover letters, and applying for internships. I've been waiting and waiting to hear back, and the only person I heard back from was a sports producer at WHDH channel 7 in Boston, and I interviewed over the phone and wasn't hearing anything for a while. I was freaking out a little bit, trying to think of more options for internships. BUT - THIS PAST SUNDAY, Koon Lam, the producer, e-mailed and officially asked me to be an intern for the fall semester!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd say it's pretty safe to say I FREAKED OUT, SCREAMED AT MY MOM TO LOOK AT THE E-MAIL, AND WE COULDN'T EVEN BELIEVEE ITT!!! Gahhhh, it was SO great! So, WHDH here I come! I accepted later that night. (I didn't want to e-mail him back a HALF HOUR after he e-mailed me. Ew. Embarrassing.) So, now I'm trying to figure out now what days/shifts I'll be working. Haven't figured it out yet, but when I do, I'll let ya know! :)

So the semester is obviously going to be GREAT. I ALSO worked out that I'm going to be doing an independent study that I'm SOOOO excited about! Chris Gilbert is a local film producer in Beverly and I'll be doing some type of reporting/film editing work with him that I'm THRILLED ABOUT! He said I'll come out of it with great stuff for my portfolio! I'm just so excited, mainly because I feel like Gordon is a GREAT school, but I haven't gotten the best experience directly in the field of broadcast journalism that I want, so I feel like I'm finally getting what I'm looking for! :) It's all coming together! So, needless to say, I'm so excited for Gordon in Boston! We move in August 29th, and our group has already started writing e-mails telling each other about ourselves and what not!

I know what you're thinking. Katie, your fall sounds AWESOME...bet your summer is JUST as exciting, right? Yeah nope. My life was straight up Subway sandwiches the last week! I had over forty hours. It was insane. I almost went nuts. It gets SO busy in the summer, that literally from 11-2 the line was NON-STOP OUT THE DOOR!! It was craziness. My apron even fell off at one point! Haha, I was busy trying to find this customer's buffalo chicken sandwich that he never got. (Found it on the back counter...oops! And he was in the car halfway to his destination when he realized it wasn't there...DOUBLE OOPS!) But yeah, Subway's been insane, but still so much fun!

Other than that -- just been hanging out! Kristi's at UNH for soccer camp until tomorrow so I've been rollin' solo! It's okay though, she'll be home tomorrow night! :) This morning I had a wonderful dunks date with Laurie Foustoukos, my wonderful friend from Gorham, but she's actually living in Beverly for the summer, so I haven't seen her as much! It was so great seeing her at my favorite place - Dunks, obviously - today and catching up!
(Oldie -- maybe my junior year of high school!)

And today my mom and I walked the boulevard in Portland and then met my dad for lunch in Monument Square. That's my favorite place in the world, city center in Portland. Every one knows my favorite building, Time and Temp, is right there, and I just love the liveliness of the city streets. Wednesdays are the BEST because they have the farmer's market - get all your veggies, plants, and other random stuff! It's the best. We got Maine blueberries, sugar snap peas, and summer squash! We got lunch in the Portland Public Market and sat upstairs! So nice.

(The best building in Maine, BY FAR!!!)

Anything else in my life? Hmm, here's random bits!

- Bought a Red Sox hat the other day at Olympia because A. Lost my old one and B. It was my reward to myself for getting the internship!
- Had a soccer game Monday night. We had ten people and no goalie. Needless to say, score was 8-1. ROUGH.

OH MAN - and we need to talk about ... BORDERS CLOSING? WHAT THEEE HECKKK!!! I love Borders. Don't get me wrong, I don't read. Me+Reading=No. SOMETIMES I DO THOUGH! And I loved going in and just exploring it all the time! And my sister's crushed, she LOVED reading. AND MY MOM, THE ENGLISH TEACHER, IS MAD TOO! Ahh, I don't get it. Gonna be SO SO WEIRD without it!

Only other thing on my mind is that I can't wait for the Smurf movie. I am by no means a Smurfs fan at all, but I LOVE KATY PERRY, and she's in it, AKA it's going to be perfection. Kristi and I will see it, DEFINITELY! Comes out Friday! PUMPED!

Alright, guess that's all for now! I gotta go check out what I'm smelling -- the blueberry coffee cake that my mom just put in the oven!! YUUUUUMM!!!

Thought to end with:
"And if dreams and memories sometimes get confused, then that's the way it should be. every kid deserves to be a hero. every kid already is."

Heard Kevin Arnold say this on The Wonder Years last night! Such the best show ever inventedddddddd!!! Never gets old!
